Alright, I know that I ended my last email with I’ll attach pics next week but…..I forgot my camera at home so…patience is a virtue? I really will next week I PROMISE!
Since last week, I’ve learned that last month was the wettest month of April on record for the state of Ohio. Hopefully because it’s May now, we are done with that. The good thing is that flowers are popping up everywhere and they are beautiful, so that’s exciting!
Um, I also just realized that I forgot my planner at home too. Wow, apparently I am REALLY unprepared! Sheesh. Sorry! I will try to remember the majority of what happened this week.
The most exciting and important things happened with Brother (Carl) Fortson! We saw him on Wednesday with Katie Ridinger from the ward. Marie was in the kitchen during the whole lesson and said she was “busy” but it was so cool to watch the spirit work on her. First she turned off the radio so she could hear what we were teaching, and then she kept coming back to the doorway to listen. MAN! I am so excited about this whole family.
We went back on Saturday morning and Marie was gone but we taught Carl. On Wednesday, he’d mentioned that he had questions about the Resurrection and where we go after we die so we had planned on teaching him the plan of salvation…but then, as we started in, he had questions about the role of Jesus Christ and why He was so important, so we switched over and started teaching him about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
And then we committed him to baptism on May 21 and he said yes, he wanted to do that! Gosh, he is so great. Then Sunday morning, after we came out our missionary meeting with the Bishop, there he was sitting in the pew. What a beautiful sight! He was early, prepared, dressed in a suit. I AM SO EXCITED FOR HIM AND HIS FAMILY! For real.
Hearts are softening here in Ravenna too! We had dinner with the Barnes family last night and Royal, the father, who has kind of run away the past 2 times we’ve been there, stayed and ate with us and talked to us and just opened up! It was fantastic! Brother Ruocchio sat in on our lesson about keeping the Sabbath Day holy the other day too. It may or may not have been because there was ice cream involved but STILL! It’s just neat to see how the Spirit softens people.
Oh YEAH! I can’t believe I almost forgot to write about this. (I’m really dependent on my planner just so you know. Don’t judge me. Missions kill your ability to remember anything.) So we only get a certain number of miles on a car. Last month it was 1500. And we were told that if we went to the Easter dinner in Kirtland, we absolutely could not go over on our miles.
So….it came to Wednesday and we realized that we only had 100 miles left so we definitely WALKED in our area for the next 3 days. We probably walked over 10 miles would be my guess. It was definitely an adventure! It was neat though because we were able to contact A LOT of people! It was good to be out and be seen.
IT FILLS GOOD TO FULFILL YOUR PURPOSE!! It really does.
I can’t remember anything else to write about soo….I’m going to go. But I love you and I am so excited to be able to call you in 6 days!!!!!!! I think I’ll probably just call on the phone. I don’t think the Carey’s have skype. But that will be good too. I’m so excited to talk to you!! I love you so much and I am so grateful to have family and friends like you.
Love,
Sister Webb
