on the next one....

What up familia (and friends)!

It’s been another pretty good week in northeastern Ohio. This week, I think I’ll give you a day by day account of what went on.

WEDNESDAY (the 7th): We had district meeting. We saw Brother Fortson and the sweet Barnes family. We had dinner with Sister Marler. She is really wonderful. She and her husband always ask what nights we don’t have a meal so that they can feed us. We pretty much were at the Marlers for the rest of the night because we taught Tabi there and then they had a young womens activity that we totally got in on! They had a clothing swap so we grabbed clothes for ourselves but also for Allie and for Sister Henry (because she wanted new clothes). There was some really great stuff there!! :)

On Thursday, I was sick. I’m pretty sure it was just allergies….I tried taking Allegra+ Sudafed because they were out of my Allegra-D at Walmart but it did not work. I slept for like 6 hours that day and then that night we went out and taught Mandy and Michael. They are engaged and less active but want to come back. We’re helping out in that part of the process J

We bought Allegra-D that night and once I got it in my system, I started feeling better.

On Friday, my companion had a little bit of a breakdown so our morning was shot. But we saw the Kainrads that day. Gosh, they are doing so well! We moved Sean’s date back so that it’s not on the same day as General Conference. That will be good. It’s just really neat to see them start opening up to us and sharing spiritual experiences with us and things. I LOVE IT! We also saw the Barnes…they are amazing. That family has got my heart. What can I say?

Due to Sister Scott’s breakdown, we got permission to go to a fireside in Cleveland that night. Sister Thompson from the General Relief Society Presidency and Sister Esplin from the General Primary Presidency were there and it was SO good! Their talks were inspired and were uplifting and I left feeling filled. My soul needed that! It was really cool to because I got to see a lot of people….Sister Messegee and CHRIS (remember my convert from Mayfield?) were there, along with a bunch of other sisters from the Mayfield ward, and Lindsay Maas was there! So that was fun.

Saturday was our last day at the Johnson Home. We got to take 2 tours and were able to testify about the Savior and tell the story of the Prophet Joseph Smith. I will miss serving around all the seniors over there and seeing them on a weekly basis. What a great experience it was for me to be able to serve there though!

On Sunday, we had church and a wonderful linger longer afterwards. Do me a favor and please do not EVER get into deep doctrine in Relief Society or Priesthood when nonmembers are there. That would be great. We saw Sister Morgan and taught her (and ourselves) about faith. Then we ate dinner with the Careys. I LOVE THEM! Brother Carey gave me like the nicest compliment of my life after dinner! He was like, “Sister Webb, if you are leaving, I want you to know how much you’ve grown since you came to this area. You’ve grown in confidence, in stature, and in abilities. It’s really been remarkable to watch.” Isn’t that so nice?!

Reflecting on it though, Ravenna really has been good to me. Funny how I thought for sure I would only be here for 6 weeks….and now it’s been 6 months. I’m convinced Heavenly Father has quite the sense of humor. Haha We also saw Sister Alexander. She’s SUCH a sweetie! Oh man. LOVE HER.

I love SO MANY PEOPLE HERE! Oh by the way, I’m just now realizing I forgot to mention that I’M BEING TRANSFERRED. I knew it; I was just waiting for the confirming phone call last night. I feel good about it. I know that my area is better than it was when I came to it and that my companion has made leaps and bounds of progress. It won’t be easy to leave so many wonderful people behind but I know it will be good. I’m sure I’m going back to Kirtland but I don’t know where yet. A LOT of people are moving around so I don’t even have a prediction. But I know that it will be the place where I can do the most good.

I am excited to go back to Kirtland. We had Elder Seldon (the area 70) speak at the conference thing on Friday night and he told us the story of Boyd K. Packer assigning himself to Kirtland stake conference back in 2006. He told the story back in March at the anniversary of the dedication of the Kirtland Temple but it meant more to me this time around. He asked President Packer why he assigned himself to Kirtland, and Pres. Packer’s response was, “I felt I needed a renewal.”

Kirtland IS a place of renewal. I need renewal at this point in my mission. I just want to be able to work SO hard. I want to completely tear it up and I want a companion who will run with me and completely exhaust themselves in the work. I am here “to bring Ohio his truth”. I don’t have much time left to do that and so I want to do it fully while I can.

Love love love YALL,

Sister Webb

P.S. Sorry I forgot my camera at home. Next week I'll send pictures!
