This is Alicia's letter from last Monday December 27, 2010
This was our Christmas tree. I drew it!
HAHA! PSYCH. Skyping with you was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO good! It was weird. It kind of feels surreal but I’m so glad that President Sorensen let us do it! Apparently not all missions were allowed to do that.
Me & Sister Maughan at the Christmas Eve dinner.
Me & Sister Andersen, who is one of my mission loves. We just get along really well cuz she's AWESOME.
Well, let’s just say this was the best Christmas ever! It was just great. Caroling with all the other missionaries on Christmas Eve probably was the best. I just felt the spirit so strongly as we united with all of these people. It was fantastic!
Picture of us caroling. FUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!
me, Sister Manwaring, Sister Scott, and Sister Lyman
It was supposed to be a redhead picture.... but then a few other people jumped in!
Thank you thank you thank you for Christmas. I have felt so humbled the last couple of days by all of things we’ve received not only from you but also from members of the ward. The Yates family gave us 3 boxes of food, the Bautista’s put together a little basket for us and the ward provided us with stockings complete with $75 in gift cards to Giant Eagle & Subway. HOLY COW!!!! Truly I am one blessed little girl.
Holy FOOD.
What do you do at a sleepover? Well, if you're a missionary, you pray and you go to bed at 10:30. I came into the living room to this sight---5 praying lumps. Hahahaha
Merry Christmas!
So not too much has happened since then. My ward was combined with the Shaker Heights ward for sacrament meeting yesterday because all of the students and their families went back to Utah basically. So that just means like 70% of the ward, no big deal. Anyway, it was very good and then we were in Kirtland for the rest of the night.
My first mission love!
me & Sister Law getting excited to talk to our FAMILIES
I’m really trying to internalize my purpose as a missionary right now. My purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them to receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. Sure, I can recite a phrase out of PMG but there’s such a difference between knowing it and FEELING it and I’m praying really hard that I can truly feel and know my purpose. But as Elder Richard G. Scott would say, “We become what we want to be by consistently being what we want to become.” So I am going to be a purpose-driven missionary. But still, feel free to pray for that for me. :)
75% of the Euclid district on Christmas....loving the dressed-down look!
Me & Sister Andersen at the brunch at the Butterfields!
Me with Elder & Sister Butterfield. Their design on their pj's was drawn by Sis. Golightly. It is a pic of the Whitney Store and underneath it, it says, "Kirtland is our home."
I’m really excited about a new transfer coming up. By the next time I email, I’ll know what’s going on. A change is coming- that’s for sure- and I’m pretty sure Sister Law is being transferred out and I’m here in Lyndhurst for another 6 weeks….but we shall see.
Well……..I really don’t have like any news for you since Saturday but I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!! Keep praying for me and I’ll keep being the best missionary that I can be. Love y’all!
Sister Webb
