HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!

Oh, I’ll give you the news first: I’m staying in Mayfield!! Haha remember how I came out with 9 other sisters? Well, now of all 10 of us I am the only one who is still in my greenie area. Sister Schwanke and Sister McAlister are being transferred so I’m the lone ranger. But it’s okay because I truly love the people in this area.
Euclid District represent. Elders Saunders & Anderson,
Sisters Wattles & Talbot, Sisters Lee & Decker,
and of course, Sisters Mayer & Webb
The week was a roller coaster. Some good, some bad. We met with a lot of members last week to teach them about mormon.org. We’re planning on keeping that up to get the ward going with the work. It seriously is such an awesome website! I created a profile like I told you I would. It was really weird to do it actually….I’m not Sister Webb on there, I’m just Alicia. And well….I don’t really know who Alicia is. It was weird to try and think about what I like to do because I just teach the gospel. Which reminds me….once upon a time a girl in the Rootstown ward wrote this song called Ode to a Sister Missionary that I have recently heard and I love it:

From Cleveland to Kirtland, now she’s in Kent
She’s not here by chance, by the prophet she was sent
So listen up everyone cuz she’s got pure intent
She knows that on a mission she’s got to represent

She’s a sister missionary, she’s extraordinary
Never contrary to the word of God
And she loves to teach the gospel, ‘cause this girl is so cool
Mama didn’t raise no fool
She holds to the iron rod.

So I’m Sister Webb & that’s what I do! :) So we had a couple of neat things happen this week…namely we got 3 new investigators! HOORAY!!! But there is a particularly neat story with one of them. So a week and a half ago, Sister Mayer and I were tracting and as we were getting into our car, we contacted this guy named Herb for like 3 mins. We set up an appointment for this past Thursday at 4. So on Wednesday night we are going through our dead pool and I found a former investigator, Lakiesha, whose address was listed as “the big white house of the corner of Washington & Rossmoor”. I thought about it for a minute and I was like, “Wait…that’s Herb’s house!”

So we showed up for the appointment and there were a few people in the house. We started talking with Herb and this girl was like, “What church are you from?” so we told her and she’s like “I’ve been to that church before.” And then later when we gave Herb the Book of Mormon, she was like “I have that book.” And she still reads the passages they left for her to read! Check it! Crazyyy! I’m so glad that we OPENED OUR MOUTHS and talked to Herb before we got in the car. He’s way cool, just got out of jail and is trying to better his life. And the gospel is the way to do it!

Our other new investigator’s name is Julius. He is SO cool! He’s from Cameroon, Africa and he is loves the Bible and he’s about to love the Book of Mormon. He has a great accent and a great attitude. He was just all smiley from the first moment we walked into his apartment. Yay Julius!!

Sad day…Chris, our recent convert, is being really weird. She was rude to us and Chris just isn’t like that. She left us this weird message saying that she needed a break and please don’t call me for a while and I might come back to the Church around April blah blah WEIRD. But she wouldn’t give us any reason for why and she kept cutting Sister Mayer off when she was trying to talk to her so I think her sister said something to her to make her be unreasonable. But that’s been a bit depressing but I’m not too worried because Chris knows how the gospel has changed her and that it’s made her happy and that’s what matters.
We’ve got meetings with 2 potential investigators set up as well, one of whom is Brother Kerr. I’m super excited for that. We’re meeting with Brother & Sister Stacey (who have been in the ward FOREVER) tonight to talk about less-actives and who they think would be most receptive right now if we tried meeting with them. We want the work to get MOVING like crazy! It’s so time. I know that as we continue to push ourselves, we will see miracles happen.

GUESS WHAT. This week it is supposed to get into the FIFTIES here. THE FIFTIES!!!! I know that at home that’s considered cold but compared to 15 degrees….it’s AMAZING!!! We are so excited. I could tract all day in that kind of weather. :)

Let’s see…my thought for the week will be on LOVE due to the fact that it is V-dayyy. Good thing I have Sister Mayer for a Valentine, huh?

Thanks for the cookie Mom & Ky & Der!

1 John 4:7-8 “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”

So really, I’m having the best Valentine’s day of my life because I get to spend it sharing God’s love that I feel with the rest of His children in Mayfield Heights, Ohio!

I love you my dears!

Sister Webb
