Above the rest, these words we'll tell: All is well!!

Can you believe that it’s MARCH tomorrow? It blows my mind! That’s crazy.

So last week we went on exchanges with the training sisters. Sister Stewart came to Mayfield with Sister Mayer and I went to Fairport Harbor with Sister Kingston. It was fun to switch things up for a day! That was the first time that I have ever proselyted somewhere besides Mayfield so it was neat to see that you do the exact same thing in every area. It was good for me but I think it was really good for Sister Mayer to have a taste of taking over the area. She was nervous but she did a great job at getting them around. Hooray!
So excited about going out in the snowstorm!

This week we had zone conference which was great! There was a definite theme of obedience. It was interesting…apparently there’s been a bigger problem than I realized with missionaries not staying with their companions and 3 people I guess were recently sent home because of disobedience. YIKES!!

Anyway, obedience has been on my mind since then. I remember when I first came out, I thought it was dumb that we couldn’t listen to EFY songs and that we were only allowed to listen to hymns. But over the past few months, I’ve come to realize that being obedient is the primary way that I show Heavenly Father that I want the Holy Ghost. And do you know what? As a missionary, it is vitally important that I have that influence ALWAYS!

In D&C 42:14, it says that the Spirit is given by the prayer of faith and if you receive not the Spirit, you shall not teach. Well…..as a full-time teacher, that’s KIND OF a problem! Anyway, I’ve realized that all that I do or don’t do is directly connected to if it will help me to have the Spirit more fully or not. The more I have the Spirit, the easier it is for me to effectively fulfill my purpose.

So Friday, we had a great big SNOWSTORM! Yayyyyy…..NOT! We had to change plans and stayed in for a few hours due to weather but around 12:30 we decided to try and go out. It wasn’t too bad up by our apartment but the closer we got to Cleveland Heights, the worse it got. And then, as we were trying to turn onto the Messegee’s street, our car got STUCK. Stuck in the snow, yep. Sister Mayer and I were like….umm I guess let’s bust out the shovels and see what we can do sooo we did. (I’ll attach a pic of the adventure.) Thank heavens though for this car full of 3 big, black ladies who turned around because they saw that it was just the 2 of us and we didn’t really know what we were doing. They helped us get un-stuck twice. They were SOO sweet and super funny!

Snow. Stuck. Shovel. SMILE!
Our dinner appointment fell through so since we were already on the Messegee’s street, they had us stay for dinner and we helped to make some meals for Sister Howerton, whose kids all had strep throat and whose husband was in the hospital for MRSA or something like that. (I don’t know exactly what that is but it’s no good.) It was a crazy but good day. Yesterday was really good too. People still aren’t really progressing but we are doing our best to make that happen and I know that we’ll see results eventually.
I’ll leave you with a thought about vision. This morning in my personal study, I looked up Proverbs 29:18. It says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” We have to have a goal in mind, and in this life, an eternal goal is the most important…as is demonstrated by the follow conversation from Alice in Wonderland.

Alice: Which path shall I follow?

The Cheshire Cat: That depends on where you want to go. If you do not know where you want to go, it doesn’t matter which path you take.

I want to challenge you to keep your eternal goal in sight! Take the road less traveled. It is rougher, narrower, and steeper, but it is the road that leads us home to eternal happiness and a fullness of joy in the celestial kingdom with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

I love you so much! You are the best ever.

Love, Sister Webb
