What a week again! It’s been a good one mostly. My quote for the week ended up really applying: “The bad may outnumber the good but the good will always OUTWEIGH the bad.” And it does!
This week we were dropped by Kia and Herb. Awesome! Not. Well sort of it is because it’s allowing us more time to find people who are actually seeking out the truth. Ummmmm no one is really progressing still. But I feel at peace. Somewhere in this area there is someone ready to accept the gospel and be baptized. Sister Mayer and I are going to find them! They are hiding here….so now it’s like GAME TIME. Ready or not, here we come!
The good news of the week is that we were able to see Chris again for the first time in almost a month! HOORAYYYYY!! Turns out she started smoking again and she feels so bad because she has the Holy Ghost. We are going to help her stop and come back to church again. She’s such a sweetheart. I’m so happy that she is letting us come over again!!
We have one other lady who is about to be progressing, Sister Scott. Mary is her name. She is an older black lady and is the sweetest person I swear I’ve ever met. We are taking her on a church tour this Friday and she’s coming to church on Sunday! Yay!!
Other exciting news? Um…Sister Messegee made little elephant-shaped heating pads for me and Sister Mayer. They are really cute and they’ve come in handy! And…General Conference is in LESS THAN A MONTH! Bring it. I’m so ready!
I guess my thought for the week is on the Spirit. It’s been on my mind recently. Sister Mayer & I took a really good tour on Saturday with a missionary from the Columbus mission and his parents. We went through the whole tour and at the end after he handed me his comment card, he was like “I can tell you sisters are exactly obedient to mission rules because you have brought the Spirit so strongly today. Truly, you taught by the Spirit. If you look at my card, you’ll see what I mean.” It said: Thank you so much. My father is not a member. I felt that the Spirit was so strong. You did a great job relating things to him.
I was shocked! It hit me so much that we can completely be guided the Spirit and not even realize it sometimes. I kept being drawn back to his father, especially in the School of the Prophets but I didn’t know why…that was why.
In short, what can we do in missionary work (or in life in general) without the Spirit? FAIL.
What CAN’T we do in missionary work/life with the Spirit? Fail. We absolutely CANNOT fail when we have the Spirit. Heavenly Father wouldn’t allow it! He always calls us to succeed. We are never left alone and never called to fail.
God lives. Jesus is the Christ. His work is the most important thing I could be involved in right now and I’m grateful for the chance to be here in Cleveland. I love y’all!
Love, Sister Webb
P.S. Yay for elephant heating pads! And yay for Messegees!
