Bittersweet.

Okay family!!

Here’s the deal….I’M BEING TRANSFERRED! AHHHHHHH.

How am I feeling? That’s a good question. The stinking APs didn’t tell the zone leaders until THIS MORNING so that was really annoying because I couldn’t sleep last night at all. The calls ALWAYS come Sunday night so that we can pack on p-day. I expected to be leaving but now that it’s here, I’m having mixed emotions. Part of me is really excited for this new adventure in my mission….but part of me is so sad. There are SO many people that I love love LOVE in this area that will be really hard to leave behind. Plus, it doesn’t help that in the past few days I’ve had more than one investigator/recent convert pray that I stay. Aw man!

So…next week, I’ll fill you in on where I’m at. Two of the options that are open have Wednesday p-days sooo if you don’t hear anything next Monday, I’m either in Chardon or Solon. Personally, I am hoping that I get to serve in Hiram because they will be opening the Johnson Home up for sisters to serve in and Hiram is one of the areas that get to serve there! But there is one space out full-pros soooo there’s a possibility I could go out there too. YIKESSSSS. We shall see.

This week was a good one. Things have really started picking back up at the Visitors’ Center, especially on Saturdays so that is nice. I <3 Historic Kirtland!!!

Kirtland is my home. <3

The highlight of the week was definitely yesterday morning. Yesterday was the 175th anniversary of the dedication of the Kirtland Temple so they held a celebration of sorts and we got to be in the Temple!!! It started at 7, and we had to be in our seats at 6:30 so it was an early morning but it was incredible. The Spirit was SO strong and the choir sang “The Spirit of God” you could just tell that they were having help from the other side of the veil. It was amazing!!

Elder Seldon (who is the 70 over this area) was telling us a story about Boyd K. Packer. He said that President Packer is the one in charge of assigning the Apostles where they’ll go for stake conference (or something like that) and he chose to come to Kirtland in 2006. When Elder Seldon asked him why he came to Kirtland he said “Because I felt like I needed a renewal.” And then, after the weekend was over, on the way back to the airport he said, “The Lord does not forget Kirtland.”

I love that! Oh my gosh, I honestly serve in the best mission in the world. Elder Butterfield used to say, “It will never get any better than the sisterhood in Kirtland.” IT’S SO TRUE. I have no idea why I was lucky enough to be called to serve here in SUCH a sacred place with so many AMAZING missionaries. It is incredible. I feel so humbled.

WARNING: This property protected by JESUS CHRIST!
Hahaha I want one for our apartment.

Yesterday we set a baptismal date with Kiesha!!! She is so excited. YAYYY!! The Mayfield ward will be having another baptism sooner than they expected.  Awesome.

I’m so sad to have to say goodbye to everyone….that’s mostly what today and tomorrow will be full of. Oh dear.

Oh, also yesterday Sister Mayer and I had probably the best comp inventory I’ve ever had on my mission. It was so good. I am so proud of her and the growth that she’s had and I’m so glad that I was able to watch as she pushed herself and extended herself more than she thought she could! She started crying (she says she has the spiritual gift of weeping…hehe) and said she was so grateful and that she’s learned so much from me and she didn’t know how to say thanks. I was kind of shocked because most of the last 3 months I’ve felt like I had NO IDEA what I was doing. But she’s learned something and she feels semi-confident in taking over the area (she’s way more ready than she thinks) and I feel good.

Me and January playing Nephi says!

I feel good because Preach My Gospel says to do all you can to leave your area stronger than you found it and I know that I have. I am leaving Mayfield better than it was 9 months ago, and I am leaving Sister Mayer better than she was 3 months. I have done what the Lord needed me to do here and now it’s time for me to move on to another area.

That’s basically all I have time for today. I’ve got to get going cuz we have a lot of errands to run but I love you so much and I’ll let you know next week what happens!!

Love,

Sister Webb
