It’s been another great week in Ohio. I’m trying to remember everything that went on….it was a lot. You saw that on Friday it DUMPED in stinking Cleveland. We got stuck in our apartment until about 2 o’clock. We started going crazy about that time so we HAD to go out. It worked! We were able to see the Messegees, Chris and Man’tima so it worked out perfectly.
Chris is doing much better! We got her to come to the Euclid elder’s baptism on Saturday night and she really enjoyed it. She LOVES the bishop of the Euclid ward. Haha seriously though. She told him, “I’d move to Euclid so I could be in your ward!” Bahaha. She’s great. She’s smoking and we found out she ran out of herbal tea so she’s been drinking coffee. AHHH. But we’re working on it and we’re going to help her stop.
Man’tima is a struggle. It’s like she’s never seen an example of a successful life… we have to start even more basic than lesson 1…we have to start by teaching her between right and wrong. With her, I feel like I’ve done absolutely everything I can do to help.
We had 2 people come to church this week-- Sister Scott and LaKiesha. They really enjoyed it which was great! LaKiesha wants to come back next week too! She was the one who was taught by elders 2 years ago…she abruptly stopped meeting with them. We found out it was because she got pregnant. But the Ellingsons were the ones who were fellowshipping her then and they are still in the ward, fellowshipping them now! Yay! We were happy about that.
| Thanks for the little piece of spring, mom!! :) You rock. |
We are seeing little miracles from the ward fast and from our efforts working with the members. Sister Messegee invited Ammon’s teacher to come to church next week to hear Ammon sing in primary and she’s going to. Sister Boylan is really good friends with a less active and we had no idea and she didn’t even know he was a member.
We finally got in contact with Gloria, a lady that the Kirtland sisters had been teaching….and when we were stuck in the apartment on Friday morning, I was calling former investigators to see if they’d like to meet with us again and one of the called us back and said yes! Schveet. Those little tender mercies of the Lord are what keep me going. Also, I got a letter from Natalie Maxwell this week AND Chase wrote me about his MISSION CALL!!!! HOORAYYYYYYYYY! I am so excited for him.

I’ve started doing a weekly focus for myself on things to study/think about. This week’s focus is DILIGENCE. That is because I am burning out of my dear area, Mayfield. I love it, I LOVE IT, don’t get me wrong…but I am in desperate need of a change. So I’m focusing on WORKING MY TAIL OFF so that I don’t let my anticipation for transfers distract me.
I really like the scripture in D&C 88:63:“Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you, seek me DILIGENTLY and ye shall find me.” I’m seeking and remembering to put my shoulder to the wheel! The thought “to whom much is given, much is required” comes to mind. I have been blessed with SO MUCH that I absolutely have to give all that I have to my Heavenly Father to show the smallest amount of thanks.

P.S. We had our training meeting this morning at the Johnson Home in Hiram at 6:45 AM. (YUCK.) It was so good though! I really want to serve at the home so I’m hoping that I get transferred to Ravenna or Hiram so that when they open it up for sisters to serve at, I’m there!! Pray hard. Ha, just kidding. I know I’ll go where HF needs me!
