be a stripling warrior!

Hey hey hey :)
It’s been a better week! I got on antibiotics, and am feeling much better which has really been nice. It’s a lot easier to feel the Spirit and to focus on your purpose when your body feels normal.

I love Ravenna! It really is a great place. I was a little nervous because a couple people told me that it’s so hard to leave your greenie area and to get attached to another area but I really haven’t experienced that. Of course, I miss the people that I love in Mayfield but I know that my stewardship is now in Ravenna and these are the people that I have the right to receive revelation for. That has really been a blessing.

This week was busy…we had a BAPTISM!!!! Tabi was baptized on Saturday. She is already bringing a friend, Becca, to activities and different things. The youth in this ward really know how to reach out to others around them. It’s really inspiring. We are hoping that Becca will be the next baptism in the Rootstown ward.
Yesterday was especially awesome. We taught 7 lessons and it was 80 (EIGHTY!!!!!!!) degrees!!!!!! It was so beautiful. It’s a whole different place here when the sun comes out and the weather gets nice. People are actually OUTSIDE so it makes missionary work loads easier.
Us and Tabi post-baptism

We had one really neat experience this week where we were checking out at WalMart and our cashier told us that she was Sister Bartell, a less active member. We got her number and went and saw her and her husband last night and they are PRECIOUS. They are the nicest people and they have a 22 year old son who is not baptized. We are all over that.
Oh also yesterday, I was attacked by a SCARY pit bull dog. Okay not really attacked but it seriously jumped up on my backpack and was about to knock me over and I was about to cry when other people came outside and made it leave. SCARY!!! Just another reason why I do not like animals.

I am having a blast with Sister McAlister. It’s so fun to be with her again! We always are quoting things from the MTC and our favorite Asian lady skit, “aw hawnayyy make look nie” and things like that. We keep ourselves entertained.
LOVE!

We had an experience yesterday with a brother in the ward who basically tried to tell us that our mission president’s rules about only eating dinner with people who live in our area (so only ½ the ward boundaries) is not from the Lord and we should just stop trying to do it. It was CRAZY. I know that he’s a sweet guy and he just wants to make sure that we get fed but STILL. My testimony of obedience was definitely strengthened in that moment. My thoughts:

THE PRICE OF DISOBEDIENCE IS NOT WORTH IT. It is not worth it to miss out on blessings for you (and for me, for my investigators and those I work with). It’s absolutely not worth it.

I know that President Sorensen is an inspired man and that the rules that we have here in the Ohio Cleveland Mission are from God. Make no mistake about it. I know that obedience not only calls down blessings from heaven but it shows Heavenly Father that we love Him and are willing to make sacrifices.
KEYSTONE!
I want to leave you (and myself) a challenge this week: Be like the Stripling Warriors. Be “true at all times in whatsoever thing [ you are] entrusted” and “obey and observe to perform every word of command WITH EXACTNESS.”

As a servant of the Lord, I am telling you that I KNOW that obedience keeps us safe. I promise you that you will see blessings flow into your life like you never have before as you strive to be obedient to God’s commandments. You are children of God and are worth so much in His sight and in mine. I love you all so much and can’t wait to hear from you next week!
Until then,

Sister Webb
