So it's official.....

P-day is the most glorious day of the week! Haha. It was especially needed this week just because we didn’t get it on Monday, and then yesterday we didn’t have training meeting so we had a 100% completely full day in our area. I’ve never had that before! Usually we have either weekly planning or service in the mornings of our full area days so we really get out at like 1:00. Crazy!

Oh, to start off I need to apologize for whining in my email last week. I’m sorry! Please forgive me. I was paying too much attention to myself and letting myself get discouraged instead of focusing on the needs of my area and my companion and the members of our ward. My bad!

Alright…updates since the last time.

On October 24th, we had stake conference…so we didn’t take the sacrament. So on the evening of my last p-day, (October 25th), we had sacrament meeting in the Kirtland temple! IT WAS SO COOL! I love to be in that building. You can just feel the spirit so strongly. My favorite part is singing The Spirit of God though. It was written for the dedication of the Kirtland temple and so every time you sing it inside that building, it’s like angels are singing with you. It’s amazing!

Last Tuesday, we had really good training & district meetings which addressed not getting discouraged but having faith, etc. And then, I got the most amazing letter at the most perfect time. I got a dearelder.com letter from my friend Scott and basically there was this whole paragraph chalked full of absolutely everything I needed to hear. It was almost creepy how it addressed every concern/problem I’d been having. For example, one line said “It is most important to be full of faith during times of difficulty and discouragement.” Ridiculous! The Spirit’s just good that way though, I guess.

It was good that we started the day off with those things because that night, Harvey definitely dropped us. Boo. But, the miracle of the day was that we didn’t feel bad about the rejection.

Wednesday, we went to sites but left early because Sister Law got sick. I really think God’s trying to teach me patience cuz He keeps giving me sick companions! On Thursday, we weekly planned and then stayed in for a while. We got out because we had an appointment planned but he flamed us so we stopped by Jane, this less active lady in the ward. Apparently she’s usually super hard to get a hold of but we caught her home because she was a bit sick. She was way nice though. She said the prayer when we left and it was beautiful and deep down you can tell she wants to start coming back to church. She said it in her prayer! We’re just gonna have to start working with her. We had dinner with the Conley’s and then we went home because Sister Law was still not feeling so hot.

Friday was AMAZING. AMAZING! It started off with me getting some “express mail”. I was so confused. It was a letter that was overnighted by my amazing mom. That was enough to make it an awesome day but it decided to just keep getting better & better! Ha. Sweet. So, a couple hours later, I get called down to the front desk. I thought it was because the Maas family was there and we were going to take them on tour but no- it was a cookie bouquet delivery from my once again, outstanding mother! Of course the cookies came right after I resolved to eat better but how can I not eat the cookies my mom has paid money to have sent to me? Come on! Ha. Me & all the other sisters at sites thoroughly enjoyed those. They were gone within about 10 minutes I think. :) But that’s not all.

Then, the Maas family did come on tour!!! It was so nice to see some familiar faces. They were sweet and brought raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, almonds and apple cider for me! Plus, the best part was probably the flowers & 3-d picture of Joseph Smith & his shadow that Ben made! They are SO cute!!! That was way fun but to finish off the evening, when I went to have dinner….it was delivered! So, last week there was this mission presidents’ seminar going on here in Kirtland and the leftover catered dinners were dropped off to sites. DANG! I am a spoiled sister, aren’t I?

The dinner that was delivered on Friday :)

Saturday was pretty good as well….we dropped off cookies to a few less actives and then went to our ward & the Shaker ward’s combined trunk or treat. The elders & we handed out candy to the kids. It
was fun!

Sunday we were at sites all day and we slept over at the Boynton because we were at sites all day Monday too. I hope that one day I get to live in a home on site. It’s fun with so many sisters all together! Monday night, for our dinner hour & training meeting combined, we had Halloween dinner at sites. The senior couples cooked for us and we all dressed up. You had to dress up as something from the scriptures. It was fun stuff! Sister Law and I went with the Moses theme. I was the burning bush & she was the rock that Moses touched with his staff and it gave water. Haha we dressed pretty simply since we didn't have p-day to prepare for it but still..we had fun!

The burning bush.

The burning bush, the rock & of course-Moses.

Yesterday was really LONG. It was good but it was long. We tracted for quite a bit and found a couple people that we’re going to bring back Book of Mormons to. We stopped by Kia & HALLELUJAH! She was not as moody as she was the past 2 times we’ve been there. We brought her some cookies & told her wanted to come back on Saturday with the Gervasi girls and just play a game. She was okay with that and then, SHE SHOWED UP AT YOUNG WOMENS! That was my miracle of the day. Last night we taught Sister Jankowski. I love her so much! She’s crazy- she really is but she’s so sweet. She told us she wished we were her daughters and that it makes her so happy when we come over. Awww! You face so much rejection as a missionary that it’s nice to hear people say, I love you! I’m happy when you come over! And nice things like that. :)

This week it’s gotten colder. It’s been in the 40s the past couple days. On Monday, I’m going to go get myself a winter coat. I think I’ll be fine for the next couple days until then. I’m going back on the Special K diet this week because I ate SO badly last week and the holidays are just around the corner and that makes me nervous because I don’t want to get FAT! Sooooooo special k it is for the next 2 weeks!

We are in finding mode now because we need new investigators sooo we’ll be knocking lots of doors in the next few days. Here’s my parting thought. This has brought me a lot of comfort because of the amazing promise at the end.

D&C 50:13, 14, 16:

“Wherefore, I the Lord ask you this question- unto what were ye [set apart]? To preach my gospel by the Spirit, even the Comforter which was sent forth to teach the truth….I will be merciful unto you; [she] that is weak among you hereafter shall be made strong.”

I need that strength and I know it only comes from exercising faith in Jesus Christ. That’s what I’m doing this week. You do it to!

Love you all!

Sister Webb

P.S.  Kristen Hanna!  You are too sweet!!  Thank you for thinking of me!  Make sure your address is on that little whatever so that I can write you a letter back :)
