embrace change, trust in the lord!

Let’s be honest: I don’t remember much of last week. But I’ll share what I do remember.

-I took a BUNCH of youth from Indianapolis on tour of the Johnson Home. When huge groups come in, they station us in a room and we just do the same room over and over and over again. It was neat to do that because it was cool to see how you can testify of so many different principles in one spot. Oh and…I met Laurie Johnson’s sister! She was a chaperone on the trip. Small world.

-We went contacting in Youngstown for a zone development thing and I had some guy who had “studied the Mormons” try and tear my testimony down. Don’t be too worried, it didn’t work. I know that the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored through Joseph Smith, and that the Book of Mormon does nothing BUT testify of Christ. It is God’s word. I KNOW.

-Sister McAlister was/is sick so we stayed in on Friday and most of Saturday. After I worked on like everything I felt like I could, I finally decided if she was taking a nap, I was too. I slept for 2 ½ hours!! It was SO lovely!

-Becky Sherbaugh, first of all, passed her baptismal interview on Saturday and secondly, was BAPTIZED on Sunday and it was SO GOOD. She actually cried! It has been just mindblowing really to see the miracle that the Lord worked in her in the last week. She totally just had a different spirit about her. It’s been really amazing to see that.

-Oh, duh, I almost forgot, Brother Mars, who we live with, got called to be the new bishop on Sunday!!! Hahaha if his house isn’t holy now with 4 sisters and a bishop in it, I don’t know what is.

-We went in for the fireside in Kirtland on Sunday night, which was quite well. Then we slept over for a training meeting on Monday morning. The Smith House holds 3 companionships and there was 6 companionships sleeping there….so I was on the floor on a bed of lumpy pillows.

Needless to say, I didn’t sleep much. After 3 hours of tossing and turning and laying there, I decided to do something more productive like read from the Book of Mormon, which I did. I had such a neat experience at 2:50 in the morning as I read in Alma. The scriptures really just opened up to me! It was so awesome! I received revelation for my investigator Amanda and didn’t end up getting to sleep until like 5 that morning. Crazy!

We had a training meeting with ALL the missionaries (including senior couples) that serve at sites. Brother Lusvardi is the man in charge of the Public Programs of the Church so he’s over all VCs. He was GREAT! He talked a lot about teaching to the one, and about teaching people and not just taking tours like a robot. He said something that really stuck out to me which was: Expect every day, every tour to be a revelatory experience.

I like it. Over and over again in the scriptures we’re promised that if we ask, we’ll receive. If we knock, it will be opened unto us. If we seek, we SHALL find!! We must expect that, and faith that it will come, and it will.

Oh, and also, my lovey love Sister McAlister is being transferred. Boo! I’m taking over Ravenna! Scary. We’ll be living with the Mars still. What I personally think is hilarious, is that we are pretty sure that Sister Scott is coming here. Scott & Webb. HA. If that’s the case, Dad, I will think of you every time anyone says our names together!

Well, I had better run. I love you, love you, love you and more importantly, love my purpose and my calling and the Lord!
