fourth of july & fireflies

I love the fireflies in Ohio!! They are beautiful. This really is such a wonderful place. I fall more and more in love with it everyday.

We had a good week! I feel good about it. I'm trying to remember what happened though! Haha. Give me a second. Or thirty.

OH YEAHHHHHHH I'm remembering.

Okay, so last Tuesday we met the sweetest lady ever here at sites named Graciela. She is the neatest woman! She is Argentine by birth, Cicilian by blood (like her parents are from Cicily) and American by choice (she married a very white man) and she is currently living with him in SAUDI ARABIA! They are in a branch that covers like the WHOLE COUNTRY. Seriously. Women are not respected at all there. Graciela can't drive at all and she can't go outside unless she's wearing this black thing that covers from head to foot but she was SO HAPPY!! She just radiated LIGHT. It was so neat. I want to be like her! I got her email so we could keep in touch and I'll attach a picture of her.

On Wednesday, we finally got to sit down with Brianne Barnes and talk about our purpose and how we want to get Hailey baptized. She was so open with us and basically said she thinks that Royal won't let Hailey be baptized until she's 10 or 12. So...our focus has now shifted from Hailey to Royal. So the Barnes also have a 6 year old son named Mason who is severely autistic. We have been wanting to bring Khris Garvin, a lady in the ward who works with special ed kids, to meet them. Well....as we were leaving that appointment, guess who drove by. Sister Khris herself! Guess Heavenly Father really needs them to meet!!!

Sister Lee from KOREA! Isn't she precious? I love her!

Then answer to prayer/reminder from Heavenly Father number 2: We stopped by the Littles. They haven't been taught a real lesson since Sister Devenport and Sister McAlister were here so it's been a while. Sister Scott was praying saying that if they weren't at home that we were going to drop them. So, we say amen and right outside my window is JOE LITTLE himself! Just standing there! He had JUST pulled into the driveway like a second before we did. Crazy, huh? Clearly, Heavenly Father does NOT want them dropped.

Also on Wednesday, I had probably one of the most awkward moments of my mission. We went to visit Garnett Dexter (a potential investigator). Her sister is a member and Sister McAlister and I saw her once but we weren't positive on her mental state. So...we went back and brought Sister Miller with us. We taught the lesson and asked Garnett to say the closing prayer. So we're all kneeling down and Garnett starts to pray and then she gets quiet. We are all waiting, thinking she's like emotional or something....well then it's like seriously 5 MINUTES later. I'd been peeking during this time trying to figure out if she was done or what and the whole time I was like praying "Just help her say amen! Help her to say AMEN!!!" but she never did. I elbowed Sister Scott and then and we sort of looked up and met Garnett's eyes and were like "Well, that was....nice." Oh man, it wath theriouthly jutht tho awkward!

On Friday, we taught Sister Manning again and Dee's grandma, Grams, was there too! We read through the Intro to the Book of Mormon and it was SO good. Sister Manning said it answered alot of questions that she had about the Restoration. So cool! She's more open than Grams is but they are both wonderful. They are planning on going with us to see This is Kirtland on July 16th. This is Kirtland is a play/musical that is put on by the members of the Kirtland stake that basically tells the story of the Saints here in Ohio. I'm so happy because last year it happened just before I got to the mission field and this year, I wasn't going to be able to see it unless I got an investigator to come. And we will have 3 nonmembers with us at it!! Woohoo! I'm excited.

On Saturday, the Johnson Home was pretty busy....we ended up having to split up and I got to take the tour with an LDS family of 6, and a Catholic grandpa and his 4 granddaughters. AWESOME!!! I was praying so hard...how do you meet all the needs of these completely different families?! It worked out all right though. Thankfully the kids in the member family weren't too young and were really well-behaved because I had to go into a lot more detail than I usually would so that they understood the Restoration. It turned out well though. I really loving serving there.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY from all the sisters.

On Sunday we had an amazing lesson with the Snyders and their two nieces...one who is in a part member family and is not a member b/c her mom won't let her be and the other who apparently feels restricted by the rules. I can't really even describe just how awesome the lesson was but the overall theme was basically MOSIAH 2:41 (my mission scripture!) When we do what the Lord has asked us to do, we are HAPPY. WE FEEL JOY. That is the truth.

Yesterday was great. We came to Kirtland for a pancake breakfast and flag raising ceremony with all the sisters and then we went out to Lisbon for a zone p-day. It was alright. Not my favorite pday ever. But regardless. I'm emailing today because all the libraries were clsoed yesterday, in case you were wondering. Thanks for supporting me and loving me and being so WONDERFUL! I love you all!

MUCH LOVE,

Sister Webb
