sacrifice who you ARE for who you can BECOME.

Helloooooooo everyone!

It’s been a pretty decent week if I do say so myself! We did a lot of organizing and trying to get our area all figured out and put together so that we know where all the members (active and not) live and where our area boundaries are. That has been useful.
This week we also did service for the Barnes family. We painted their house! Well, their porch and their mudroom. It was really good. We are hoping and praying that it softened Royal’s heart and we are trying to get to him in all areas that we can.

Brother Hensley, Brianne’s dad, came over and helped for a while too. He doesn’t think that he is less active BUT he is. Anyway, it was good to talk to him and guess who we saw at church yesterday? Yep, Kevin Hensley. Hopefully our little chat gave him a kick in the pants so he’ll get on top of his game again.

Okay, so we had a good lesson on the plan of salvation with Sister Manning and Grams on Friday. We brought Jenny Snyder with us who was AWESOME! We taught them about the plan of salvation and they already believed everything up until the kingdoms of glory. Then Grams was like “well, I know it talks about tiers of heaven in the Bible…” and they said that they would read over the pamphlet and pray about it. They are really wonderful.

We are going with them up to Kirtland on Friday to see “This is Kirtland!” which is the play that the Kirtland stake puts on every year. I’m really excited to see that. I can’t wait! Grams is even going to pick us up at the Mars house and drive us so that we don’t have to waste any miles. Seriously, they are the best. We need to set a baptismal date this week with Sister Manning. I’ll let you know how that goes.

Thursday was crazy busy at the Johnson Home. 4 tour buses came through of youth conferences and young people on Heritage Tours. It was NUTS! But it was really fun to be able to talk with the kids. The Heritage Tours group was especially awesome. They do a church history trip and they were challenged on every stop along their way to hand out pass along cards or a Book of Mormon, and they had an MTC teacher come with them and he taught them about contacting and roleplayed with them what to say when people ask “Why is your church different than mine?” SO COOL!

We really need new investigators. This has been an odd transfer. I feel like we haven’t got a ton of work done in the last 3 weeks but we have gotten more prepared to do work…if that makes sense. I have a companion who has needed to be taken care of as well and so we’ve been seeing to that. It’s been good. I’m learning a lot about love and charity. Those are the attributes I feel like I’ll be incorporating more fully into my character this transfer. Good things to work on, I think!

Last night we were able to go to the Kirtland Temple for the “Emma Festival” with the Community of Christ. Basically it was a joint celebration of Emma Smith’s birthday and we sang songs from the hymnbook she compiled. It was really fun and great and Sister Everson came back to visit so she got to sing with us in the choir lofts! It was good to see her back here.  I love being in the Temple. The spirit really is so strong there if you bring it and you look for it. It was a night to remembered for sure!

Did I ever mention that I have the BEST MISSION IN THE WORLD? I do. I live in a dream. In case you were wondering.

I love you! I know that Heavenly Father answers prayers and that He is REAL. There is power in the Priesthood. Don’t be afraid to call on that when you need help.

Love love love you!

Sister Webb
